While he has since exempted sex offenders from the scheme, two of PC Andrew Harper’s killers will get out despite more than 800,000 signing a petition to keep them locked up. Mr Farage will today also vow to build pop-up “Nightingale prisons” to create 12,000 more prison places. And he will vow to stop dangerous lags benefitting from the early release scheme and also reintroduce short sentences for shoplifters.
