New Apple TV comedy has 100% Rotten Tomatoes, here’s the trailer

Apple TV currently has a packed lineup of new shows airing, and it’s about to add another. Small Prophets is a British comedy premiering next week that has a 100% Rotten Tomatoes score. Small Prophets debuts October 7 on Apple TV, and it’s already beloved by viewers and critics Last month, Apple TV announced that it was doing something very rare: licensing an existing show from another network. British comedy Small Prophets debuted in the UK earlier this year and became a hit for the BBC—it has a 100% Rotten Tomatoes score. Now Apple will bring the beloved show to viewers around the world. Small Prophets premieres Wednesday, October 7 on Apple TV with its first two episodes, followed by weekly releases through November 4. Today Apple debuted the trailer for Small Prophets, offering a taste of what’s coming. Here’s the series summary, followed by the trailer: “Small Prophets” is a comic tale of the eccentric Michael Sleep (Quigley) who, since his darling Clea disappeared seven years ago, has lived a very ordinary life. He works in a DIY store, visits his dad Brian (Palin) and hopes for Clea to return. One day Brian shares an old recipe involving rainwater, horse manure and more than a little alchemy. With recipe in hand, Michael sets out (albeit with some skepticism) to create homunculi — magical spirits that can predict the future — in the hope they have the answer to his burning question: “will I ever see Clea again?” Small Prophets was created, written, and directed by Mackenzie Crook, who also created Detectorists and acted in The Office (UK) and Pirates of the Caribbean. Note: Small Prophets will be available globally on Apple TV, but UK viewers won’t gain access until 2027.
