NEW plans have been unveiled for a major new retail park set to cost millions. The shopping development will feature bargain supermarket, Aldi, as well as a Marks & Spencer store. An application for the development near Boulton Moor reveals that a Starbucks drive-thru will sit alongside the Aldi. Sign up for the Money newsletter Thank you! There will also be a BP petrol station, featuring an M&S store – as well as electric vehicle charging points. The project is predicted to cost £20million and the retail park has been designed to serve the area’s growing population. It’s thought the shopping site will also provide 140 jobs for the area and will provide a boost for the local economy. While outline planning permission for the build was granted back in 2024, a more detailed proposal is currently being reviewed. South Derbyshire District Council is considering the application and it’s hoped an answer will be given by the end of the month. In a statement, Rothstone Estates said: “This is an exciting investment for Boulton Moor and Derby that will deliver new jobs, high-quality facilities and improved transport infrastructure.
