The fate of Glenn Rhee (Steven Yeun) is widely regarded as The Walking Dead's most haunting death, with his brutal demise at the hands of Negan (Jeffrey Dean Morgan) even being a moment where many fans stopped watching the hit show. Part of what makes Glenn's exit so tragic is that he never got to meet his son, Hershel Rhee, played by Kien Michael Spiller in the main series and by Logan Kim in the spinoff The Walking Dead: Dead City centered on Maggie Rhee (Lauren Cohan) and Negan. According to Deadline, Netflix's new supernatural series Pagans is now giving the actors the chance to play father and son. Yeun was previously cast as a man named Gus who tragically loses his wife, making him the sole guardian of his children. Kim is now confirmed to be playing the son, Nate, who is a more typical, likable, and dependable child, although he can feel neglected due to living in his sister's shadow. Sabine Grace, in her acting debut, joins the cast as Alice, Gus' daughter and Nate's brother, who has a strained relationship with her father that gradually transforms into something more sinister. Marin Ireland and Intae Kim are also coming on board the show, with the former playing a single mother named Janelle attempting to bond with her 14-year-old daughter, Jade, and the latter as Casey, Gus' younger brother who is always willing to help his family when they are in need, even if he gets no thanks for it. The series was created by Joshua Zetumer, who also serves as the showrunner and an executive producer. He previously created the Hulu show Say Nothing, which has a 94% score from critics on Rotten Tomatoes, and co-wrote the screenplays for the 2014 Robocop movie and Mark Wahlberg's 2016 thriller Patriots Day about the Boston Marathon bombings. For Yeun, Pagans marks yet another collaboration with Netflix after starring in Beef, Trollhunters: Rise of the Titans, The Rip, and Animals. He won the Emmy Award for Outstanding Lead Actor in a Limited or Anthology Series or Movie for Beef. After leaving The Walking Dead and outside of Netflix, he starred in Minari, for which he received an Academy Award nomination for Best Actor, along with voicing the titular character in Prime Video's hit adult animated series Invincible, and has had supporting roles in Jordan Peele's Nope and Bong Joon Ho's Mickey 17. Kim was last seen playing Hershel this year in The Walking Dead: Dead City season 3, which became the spinoff's first season to receive a 100% critics' score on Rotten Tomatoes. The show has not been renewed or canceled as of this writing. Outside AMC's post-apocalyptic franchise, Kim has played a character named Podcast in Ghostbusters: Afterlife and Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire, and earlier this year, was announced as the voice of Jason Todd in the DC Universe's animated movie Dynamic Duo that is being released in theaters on September 22, 2028. Pagans does not have a set release date yet. Network Netflix Showrunner Joshua Zetumer Cast Creator(s) Joshua Zetumer
