Netflix's Hit Comedy Series With Perfect Rotten Tomatoes Score Officially Returns With New Episodes Next Month

Published Oct 7, 2026, 2:54 PM EDT Growing up around performers, storytelling was always central to Emma's life. Add in a nerdy older brother who introduced her to Marvel at far too young an age, and her love for entertainment led her to pursue a Journalism degree at Indiana University, where she discovered her passion for entertainment reporting. She spent nearly one year in Los Angeles covering industry stories and fully immersing herself in the world of entertainment media. Sign in to your ScreenRant account Netflix's acclaimed comedy series North of North has an official return date, with new episodes arriving next month. The comedy was the first original series to emerge from the streamer's Canadian office and is co-produced with the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation (CBC) in partnership with APTN. The new season follows North of North's widely acclaimed debut. Season 1 achieved the rare feat of earning a perfect 100% Tomatometer score on Rotten Tomatoes, alongside a 79% audience score. The series was officially renewed for season 2 in April 2025, shortly after its Netflix debut. Now, Netflix has unveiled the first trailer for North of North season 2, which will premiere on November 5. Anna Lambe returns as Siaja, who continues to make decisions and mistakes as she tries to take greater control of her life while proving to herself and her tight-knit Arctic community that she is ready for what comes next. Created by Stacey Aglok MacDonald and Alethea Arnaquq-Baril, North of North follows Siaja, a young Inuk mother who leaves her husband and builds a new life for herself in the fictional Arctic community of Ice Cove. Season 1 follows Siaja as she gains independence and becomes more involved in her community, eventually taking a job assisting town manager Helen. The series largely maintains a lighthearted tone and explores more emotional subjects involving Siaja, her family, and Ice Cove. The ending of North of North season 1 left several storylines unresolved, including Neevee revealing that Siaja has a sister she never knew about and Siaja and Kuuk continuing to hide their feelings for one another. Meanwhile, plans for a new research outpost promised further changes for Ice Cove, with Alistair and Kuuk remaining in the community and Alexis taking a job working alongside Helen and Siaja. Lambe will once again be joined by Maika Harper as Neevee, Braeden Clarke as Kuuk, Jay Ryan as Alistair, Mary Lynn Rajskub as Helen, Zorga Qaunaq as Millie, Bailey Poching as Colin, Nutaaq Simmonds as Elisapee, and Keira Cooper as Bun. With many North of North's characters returning, the second installment can further develop Ice Cove's community while continuing Siaja's journey. The show's return comes as Netflix continues to find success with several of its newer comedies. Nobody Wants This earned a 95% Rotten Tomatoes score in its first season before being renewed, while Ted Danson's A Man on the Inside debuted to similarly strong reviews and was also brought back for another installment. Mindy Kaling's Running Point became another recent Netflix comedy to secure a second season. Still, North of North stands out among Netflix's recent comedy successes because of the perfect critical score attached to its debut season. Maintaining that level of acclaim may be difficult, but season 2 can build on the character-driven storytelling and representation that made its first installment so well received. North of North season 2 returns to Netflix on November 5.
