Patti Sapone | NJ Advance Media By Brandon Champion | bchampio@mlive.comSubway is giving away free food this spooky season. The popular sandwich chain announced its “lunchtime horrors” promotion this week. Through Oct. 16, customers can apply for a chance to receive one of thousands of $15 Subway eGift cards that can be used to purchase a footlong featuring freshly sliced meats, loads of veggies and bread baked daily. All you have to do is confess to a lunchtime horror online. Maybe your $20 smoothie left you hungry. The $25 salad wasn’t worth it. Or that greasy burger that weighed you down. “We make sandwiches, not time machines. But we can give people something to look forward to at their next lunch,” said Jeff Klein, Chief Marketing Officer, Subway. “Feed Your SUBconscious is an invitation to listen to that inner voice that knows what you really want. This Halloween, we’re giving Americans a chance to act on it, with thousands of freshly prepared Footlongs on us.”Lunch regret is apparently very common. According to Subway, 66% of U.S. adults say they at least sometimes regret their lunch choice. Actor and comedian Will Arnett, who serves as the voice of the campaign, also weighed in. “This Halloween, they’re giving away thousands of them,” Arnett said. “I could say more, but ‘free Footlong’ really does most of the work.Subway has more than 35,000 restaurants around the world.Brandon Champion is a National Trending Reporter for Advance Local based in Grand Rapids, Michigan.
