Naidu inaugurates Seed Access Road for Amaravati, quarters for MLAs and MLCs

Andhra Pradesh chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu on Thursday announced that Amaravati would be developed as a completely pollution-free city, and a major deep-tech hub, with plans to transform it into an Artificial Intelligence and Quantum Computing Valley.HT ImageAddressing a public meeting after inaugurating the Amaravati Seed Access Road, the largest trunk road passing through the capital city, and bridges connecting the capital city with the old Vijayawada-Guntur highway, Naidu said the infrastructure was expected to provide a direct and convenient access to Amaravati from Vijayawada and other parts of the capital region.“Amaravati will be developed based on five key principles: an electric-poles-free city, a blue city with abundant water bodies, a green city with extensive greenery, a green-energy city and a deep-tech knowledge city anchored by an emerging Quantum Valley,” the chief minister said.Naidu also dedicated the newly completed residential complex for MLAs and MLCs at Rayapudi to the nation. The AP Capital Region Development Authority (APCRDA) formally handed over the complex to the general administration department through the chief minister.The residential quarters, which marks the inauguration of the first major government complex in the capital city, comprises 12 towers with a total of 288 flats.Recalling criticism that Amaravati’s development plans were merely “graphics”, the chief minister said those designs were now being translated into reality. “When the graphics are turning into reality, those who mocked them should bow their heads,” he remarked.Naidu said the government was committed to balanced and decentralised development across Andhra Pradesh and not merely concentrating development in Amaravati.Describing the Seed Access Road as the “royal road” to Amaravati, the chief minister said its completion marked only the beginning of the capital’s infrastructure development. “In the third phase, the road would be extended to connect with the National Highway at Tadepalli,” he said.He said Amaravati, Mangalagiri, Tadepalli, Guntur and Vijayawada municipal corporations would remain part of the capital region. “The Centre has sanctioned a 190-km Outer Ring Road and a 96-km Inner Ring Road for the capital region. The fully developed Amaravati capital would be inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi in 2028,” Naidu announced.The chief minister also invited suggestions from people for the development of Amaravati and said the capital should eventually emerge as the economic capital of Andhra Pradesh.Ministers P Narayana and Nadendla Manohar accompanied the chief minister during the programme.
