Murder probe as man in his 30s found dead with serious head injuries in south London

A MURDER investigation has been launched after a man was found dead with serious head injuries. Police were called to an address in Lambeth, south London, at around 8.30am on Friday by the London Fire Brigade. Officers found a man in his 30s with serious head injuries and he was pronounced dead at the scene. No arrests have been made at this stage and a crime scene remains in place. Detective chief inspector Alison Foxwell said: “This is a tragic incident and our thoughts are with the victim’s family and loved ones as they come to terms with their loss. “We are working hard to establish exactly what happened and a team of detectives is progressing a number of enquiries at pace. “At this stage, we believe this was an isolated incident and there is no evidence to suggest any wider risk to the public. “I would urge anyone who was in the area, or who may have seen or heard anything unusual, to come forward and speak to us. Even the smallest piece of information could prove vital in helping us understand the circumstances surrounding this man’s death. “We understand this news will cause concern within the local community and residents can expect to see an increased police presence in the area as our investigation continues.” Most read in The Sun
