Multiple people injured in party boat crash

September 20, 2026 — 9:22amMultiple people were taken to hospital after a party boat crashed into a pylon on the Gold Coast.The boat was carrying 21 people when it crashed at Moondarewa Spit at Main Beach about 7pm.Paramedics assessed eight people, six of whom required transport to hospital.Two women in their 20s were also assessed, one of them after falling off the boat. Both were in a stable condition and declined transport to hospital.A man in his 20s suffered facial injuries and was taken in a stable condition to Gold Coast University Hospital.A woman in her 20s with a head injury was taken in a stable condition to Gold Coast University Hospital.A woman in her 20s with shoulder and neck pain was taken in a stable condition to Gold Coast University Hospital.A man in his 30s with neck was taken in a stable condition to Gold Coast Robina Hospital.A woman in her 20s with an arm injury was taken in a stable condition to Gold Coast University Hospital.A woman in her 20s with a shoulder injury was taken in a stable condition to Gold Coast Robina Hospital.No one else on board was injured.A police spokesperson said the injuries were understood to be minor, such as nose bleeds and concussions.Start the day with a summary of the day’s most important and interesting stories, analysis and insights.
