Mr Vincenzo’s

14/20Updated October 7, 2026,first published November 18, 2024Revamped seaside charmer with a retro Italian soul.Warmth radiates from this suave beachside diner, recently given a glamorous glow-up. It wraps you in terracotta tones in the dining room, built around retro Italian flourishes, cinematic amber lighting and a cocktail-slinging curved bar. It’s in the service: instantly familiar, friendly and relaxed. And it’s everywhere in the cooking: seasonally focused, generous, but with dashes of cheffy panache.Ruby-hued tuna tartare is elegant and bright, swirled with avocado and topped with mandarin for a juicy citrus pow. On the flipside, tagliatelle with fennel sausage, leafy green spigarello and a hum of chilli is pure, creamy comfort. Lakes Entrance dory arrives decadently wrapped in silverbeet, scattered with burnished pine nuts and slathered with punchy sweet-and-sour agrodolce. This is crowd-pleasing food made for sharing – preferably with a bowl of shatteringly good crisped-up potato salad and some vinyl spinning in the background.Good to know: The chef’s menu at $85 per head is a guaranteed good time.Good Food reviews are booked anonymously and paid independently.
