The M8 motorway near Glasgow Airport remains closed in both directions following the collision late last night. Emergency services were called to the stretch between Junction 29 and Junction 30 at Paisley around 11.45pm. Westbound delays are currently adding at least 17 minutes to travel times. Signed diversions are in place and motorists are being urged to avoid the area and seek alternative routes. The condition of those involved in the crash has not yet been confirmed. An update from Traffic Scotland on X reads: “The #M8 is currently CLOSED in both directions due to an ongoing Police Incident. “Traffic is being diverted (see below) and traffic is already very slow Westbound as a result.“ A spokesperson for Police Scotland said: “The M8 remains closed between J29 and J30, Paisley, following a crash reported to us around 11.45pm on Sunday, 13 September, 2026.
