"We may ask them to do that," Trump told reporters on Thursday. Meanwhile, US Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent said European states should do so "immediately". Yemen's armed forces spokesperson early on Friday said that air force warplanes carried out 20 precision strikes on Houthi targets over the past three hours in Taiz province. The spokesperson said the attacks - which targeted Houthi movements, reinforcements, gatherings, personnel, vehicles and military equipment - inflicted losses on the group. Trump threatened severe consequences if Iran failed to reach an agreement with Washington, saying that the confrontation with the Tehran will end "very soon". "Either they’ll do something very proper and smart, or they won’t be around very long," Trump said. The commander of the Quds Force in the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), Esmail Qaani, said that the US is faced with a "humiliating situation" across the Middle East. Mohammad Reza Naqdi, a senior adviser to the commander of Iran’s Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), also suggested that the US withdrawal from Iraq indicates that Washington's power in the region is waning. An oil supertanker is in flames in the Strait of Hormuz after it was hit by a missile, Iran’s Fars news agency is reporting. The attack took place eight kilometres off the coast of Oman, Fars reported, without attributing a perpetrator to the attack.
