Monastery stabbing rampage leaves at least five injured 'with three priests in critical condition' in Poland as knifeman is arrested

The attack, which took place at around 9.30am this morning in the Polish town of Jarosław, saw the 31-year-old Ukrainian citizen stab four men and one woman on the grounds of the Abbey of Benedictine Sisters on Benedyktyńska Street. Three of the priests at the monastery are in a life-threatening condition and have been taken to hospital, along with the other two who were hurt. Local news organisations reported that one of the injured men has since died, but this has not been confirmed by police. Cops are currently at the scene investigating the incident. Staff Sergeant Anna Długosz told local media: 'Witnesses are being questioned at the scene, an inspection is underway, and we are determining all the circumstances of the incident.'Jarosław Mayor Marcin Nazarewicz told local media that schools in the town have been advised not to let children outside. He said: 'The crisis management team has now informed schools, offices, and parishes that such an incident occurred and that they should be more vigilant about who enters the buildings.'More to follow.
