Missing for 3 days, MSc student's decomposed body found in boyfriend's washroom

A missing MSc student was found dead in the bathroom of her boyfriend's rented room in Varanasi. During the search, the student's mother and cousin learnt that Vivek Chaubey, a man known to her and a resident of Cholapur, was also missing.A key to his rented room in Bachhaon was found in a bag kept at the house of his maternal uncle in Seekhar village, Mirzapur. The student's mother took the key to the rented accommodation. When she opened the locked room, she found her daughter's decomposed body in the bathroom amid a strong foul smell.The family has alleged that Vivek killed the student, hid her body in the bathroom and fled the spot. Police have launched a search to arrest him and have sent the body for post-mortem examination.The suspected reason behind the incident is the student's father's decision to arrange her marriage with a young man from a neighbouring village.The local police said the room where the student's body was found had been rented by Vivek Chaubey, who is also a relative of the family.
