More than 7.2 million checks have been distributed since payments from the $5 billion dividend started July 31 and another 3.8 million will go out this week.Refunds will average about $100 per covered vehicle, but the exact amounts will be based on state and policy.“As a mutual company with a customer-first focus, State Farm Mutual is able to provide value directly to our customers while maintaining financial strength to keep our promises in the future,” Jon Farney, State Farm Mutual President and CEO, said earlier this year when announcing the dividends. “That translated this year to lower auto rates and cash back in the form of a $5 billion policyholder dividend.”Eligible customers must have had an auto insurance policy with the company between Jan. 1, 2025, and Dec. 31, 2025. Policyholders on some 49 million vehicles are expected to receive payments.Customers who have an email address on file with State Farm will receive an email from donotreply.e.sfdividend.com with instructions on their dividend, including information on logging in for payment through a digital app such as Venmo or PayPal or receiving a paper check through the mail.
