EXCLUSIVE: Millie Bobby Brown and David Harbour's new Netflix thriller series receives a major update a year after Stranger Things ended. Netflix's popular sci-fi series starred David Harbour as Jim Hopper, chief of the Hawkins Police Department, who adopts Millie Bobby Brown's Eleven, a girl with telepathic and psychokinetic powers who escapes from a laboratory. Soon after Stranger Things ended in December 2025, it was reported in July 2026 that the two stars were reuniting for a new Netflix series, once again starring as a father-daughter duo. Now, in an interview with ScreenRant's Tatiana Hullender for Violent Night 2, David Harbour shared an update on the new Netflix series, revealing that "a bunch of scripts" have been completed, and they are "going into production early next year." He went on to praise the show's creator, Jack Thorne of Adolescence fame, and expressed his excitement for reuniting with Millie Bobby Brown. Read his full comments below: It’s great, we have a bunch of scripts and we’re going into production early next year. It’s a really, really great show. This guy, Jack Thorne, who wrote Adolescence, is such a brilliant writer, and it really explores a lot of interesting themes that I think Millie and I want to explore. And it gets into that dynamic in a really rich and propulsive way, and I think it’s just going to be spectacular. I can’t wait. Created by two-time Emmy winner Jack Thorne (Adolescence), loosely inspired by Paul Warner's debut novel A Spy in the Blood (2026), the untitled Netflix series stars David Harbour as Matt Wolfe, a disgraced former FBI agent who has reinvented himself as a security expert. However, his quiet life is upended when his estranged daughter, Rebecca (played by Millie Bobby Brown), an ambitious FBI agent following in his footsteps, disappears during an assignment. With no choice but to return to the field, Matt must navigate a world that has changed dramatically since he left. Produced by A24, the high-profile project brings together key talent from two of Netflix's biggest series ever, Stranger Things (2016–2025) and Adolescence (2025). The espionage thriller also reunites Millie Bobby Brown with Jack Thorne, the star and writer of Netflix's three Enola Holmes movies (2020–2026). David Harbour can be seen next in Violent Night 2, releasing in theaters on December 4. A sequel to the 2022 film, Harbour reprises his role as Santa Claus, who, after being put on the naughty list and stripped of his magic, must rediscover the true meaning of Christmas while taking on a ruthless gangster who terrorizes a small community. Kristen Bell, Jared Harris, Joe Pantoliano, Maxwell Friedman, Daniela Melchior, and Andrew Bachelor also join the cast. With production just around the corner, fans won't have to wait forever to see David Harbour and Millie Bobby Brown back together again, and if their chemistry in Stranger Things is any indication, their father-daughter spy series should be another Netflix hit.
