Positioned above the Hector, the upcoming model is expected to be called the MG Hector Tomahawk, although the company is yet to officially confirm the production name.The new SUV will be the first MG model in India to use the company’s ADAPT architecture, which has been developed to support multiple powertrain options. At the front, it gets slim horizontal LED daytime running lights with the MG badge positioned between them, while the main headlamps sit lower on the bumper.The SUV features a closed-off upper section, a large lower air intake and chunky black cladding. The side profile is dominated by large alloy wheels, roof rails and conventional door handles, while the long wheelbase and extended rear overhang help accommodate the three-row seating layout. At the rear, the SUV gets slim horizontal LED tail-lamps that stretch towards the sides, along with a large glasshouse and sizeable D-pillar.MG Hector Tomahawk interior and featuresMG has already confirmed that the new electric SUV will have three rows of seats, making it one of the brand’s largest EVs in India. Earlier teasers have revealed a beige-themed cabin with a minimalist dashboard and a digital display setup. Expected features include a large touchscreen infotainment system, digital instrument cluster, powered and ventilated front seats, powered tailgate and wireless charging.The SUV is also likely to get dual-zone automatic climate control with dedicated vents for all three rows, a 360-degree camera and an ADAS suite. Six airbags and an electronic parking brake are also expected to be part of the package.MG Hector Tomahawk battery and rangeMG has not yet revealed the India-spec battery or motor specifications. However, the SUV is expected to share its underpinnings with the Wuling Starlight 560, which uses a 69.2kWh LFP battery pack and a front-mounted electric motor developing around 204bhp and 310Nm.The global Wuling model has a claimed CLTC range of up to 530km. If the India-spec SUV uses a similar setup, the Hector Tomahawk could offer a claimed range of more than 500km.The final battery capacity, motor output, charging capabilities and certified range will be revealed closer to its launch.MG Hector Tomahawk price and rivalsThe upcoming three-row electric SUV is expected to be priced between Rs 20 lakh and Rs 25 lakh (ex-showroom).
