Meet Premier League’s rising stars with famous parents including David Haye’s son, Kai Rooney and England icon’s boys

BECOMING a professional footballer takes an incredible amount of natural ability, hard work, and perseverance. However, it also helps to have a bit of magic already in your genes. Here, SunSport takes a look at a handful of wonderkids born to big-name parents who are now looking to make a name for themselves… KINGSTON HAYE The son of boxing legend David Haye, Kingston is making waves at Arsenal as part of their youth system. The prodigy, 12, joined Hale End last year from Sutton after impressing scouts to earn a switch to the top-flight academy. His technical ability, vision, and ball control earned him a reputation as a highly promising talent, leading to his move to North London. Kingston is not the only one of Haye’s kids to impress in sport either. Older brother Cassius, 18, previously made waves on the Spanish junior tennis circuit. Most read in Sport Kai, 16, is the eldest son of Wayne and Coleen Rooney and is following in his father’s footsteps by trying to make the grade at Manchester United. The forward-thinking winger penned scholarship terms at Old Trafford earlier this year and has been tipped for a bright future at United. In seven games for Man Utd U18s last season, Kai netted two goals and registered another assist. The teenager has recently claimed he models his game off former Arsenal winger Gabriel Martinelli, but will know that he will always be compared to his superstar dad – not least because his middle name is Wayne. REIGAN & JADEN HESKEY Rooney isn’t the only former England striker trying to breed the next generation of stars, with Emile Heskey also doing the same. Heskey’s sons Reigan and Jaden have both been making splashes in the Manchester City academy system. Jaden, 20, is highly thought of in Manchester and was sent out on loan to Sheffield Wednesday this season after impressing in a short spell there last term. Reigan, 18, left City permanently this summer in search of the next step in his career, joining German club Cologne. Reigan will be hoping to follow in the footsteps of young English talent like Jadon Sancho and Jude Bellingham who excelled in Germany during their early development. Phoenix, 16, is part of the Tottenham academy and has been tipped for an England youth call-up after impressing for the North London club. The 6ft 2in striker netted all four goals in a 4-1 win over Wolves last month and has trained with Roberto De Zerbi’s first-team squad. In an exclusive interview with SunSport, dad Marin said: “Phoenix wasn’t really on anyone’s radar at the start of last season — but he certainly is now. “He scored four in a 6-0 win over West Ham last September and never looked back since.” GABRIEL ARTETA There could soon be a father and son duo representing the same team, with Mikel Arteta’s son Gabriel currently in the youth ranks at Arsenal. Gabriel was made a first-year scholar this summer and has already played for Arsenal’s U18s. The youngster previously travelled to Arsenal‘s first-team pre-season training camp in the United States a couple of years ago. Aged just 14 at the time, he did not take part in any sessions and instead watched from the sidelines with the coaching staff. Stella and Estere Ciccone, the adopted twin daughters of pop superstar Madonna, are both enrolled in Tottenham Women’s youth ranks. The 14-year-olds even attended a WSL game with their mum last season, watching from the stands as Spurs lost 2-0 to Chelsea. Comment now
