McDonald’s menu shake-up sees return of World Heist and new Happy Meal

The menu changes every six weeks (Picture: McDonald’s/Metro) Every six weeks, McDonald’s changes its UK menu, adding something new or bringing back a discontinued favourite. These changes can get a bit confusing, so we’ve created this mega list to keep track of everything, and we’ll be continuously updating it throughout the year to show what’s in and what’s out. This year has already seen some very exciting additions, including the launch of the Friends Meal in February, McGriddles, and the recent Xbox-inspired Side Missions menu. And the fast food chain isn’t slowing down with new releases, as the World Heist is officially back for another year. This change will see menu items from Canada, Australia, Germany, India, China, and the Netherlands heading to the UK. Here’s everything you need to know… Everything new and returning to McDonald’s UK menu in September 2026 Chicken & Egg McMuffin and Chicken & Bacon McMuffin There’s a new Dawn Raid with chicken breakfast items (Picture: McDonald’s UK) For 2026, the chain is introducing a Dawn Raid as part of the World Heist, which will bring two new breakfast items to the UK from Australia. This change sees chicken joining the breakfast menu here for the first time, with a Chicken & Egg McMuffin and a Chicken & Bacon McMuffin. These feature chicken in a crispy coating, egg, cool mayo, and a cheese slice inside a toasted English muffin, with the latter adding bacon too. Available from: September 22 until November 16 Big Rösti This burger comes from Germany (Picture: McDonald’s UK) Ask Metro Use AI to go deeper into the stories you care about – powered by Metro and trusted publications. Heisted from the German menu, this £6.99 burger features a beef patty, layered with crispy potato rösti, streaky bacon, a cheese slice, creamy baconnaise, and a cheese sauce. All of this is served inside a toasted and glazed sesame-topped bun. Available from: September 22 until October 19 Maple & Cheddar Chicken A Canadian favourite is joining the line-up (Picture: McDonald’s UK) This burger (£7.29) comes from Canada and contains a chicken breast fillet in a crispy coating topped with cheddar cheese, onions two ways, lettuce, and tomato. The whole thing is finished with a mustard maple sauce and citrus mayo and served in a toasted poppy and sesame seed bun. Available from: September 22 until October 19 Mac & Cheese Triangles This side proved popular last year (Picture: McDonald’s UK) The crispy triangles of macaroni pasta with a cheddar cheese sauce from the UAE return for the World Heist 2.0 after proving popular last year.Served with a classic tomato dip, they’re described as a ‘serious’ comfort food and cost £2.89 for a portion, or £7.09 for a sharebox. Available from: September 22 until November 16 Paprika McShaker Fries Add the seasoning to the bag and shake (Picture: McDonald’s UK) Fries are also getting a makeover, with Paprika McShaker Fries from the Netherlands on the menu (£2.29). They’ll feature a smoky paprika seasoning sachet and a shaker bag. Simply pour the seasoning over the fries in the bag, shake, and enjoy. Available from: September 22 until November 16 Szechuan Sauce There’s a new dip from China (Picture: McDonald’s UK) A sweet and savoury Asian-inspired sauce with a mild Szechuan pepper heat, which costs 70p for a dip pot. Available from: September 22 S’mores McFlurry A sweet new dessert from Canada (Picture: McDonald’s UK) Rounding out the World Heist Menu is a sweet dessert that’s ideal for chocolate lovers – a S’mores McFlurry from Canada. Soft dairy ice cream is swirled with marshmallows and a biscuit crumb before being topped with chocolate sauce. It’s £2.69 for a regular or £1.99 for a mini. Available from: September 22 until November 16 Guava x Sprite Zero And a tropical Sprite Zero drink (Picture: McDonald’s UK) McDonald’s hasn’t forgotten about drinks either. All of the above can be washed down with a tropical beverage combining Sprite Zero with a guava-flavoured syrup over ice for £2.39. Available from: September 22 until October 19 Build-A-Bear Happy Meal The new theme for Happy Meals this month is Build-A-Bear, with cute plush keyrings to collect, with characters such as Friendly Fox and Pawlette. The box itself has had a makeover too, and now looks like a Build-A-Bear workshop. Available from: September 22 Everything new and returning to McDonald’s menu in August 2026 Black Pepper & Garlic McNuggets The Black Pepper Nuggets returned ahead of the World Heist (Picture: Jeff Gilbert / http://www.jeffgilbert.c) McDonald’s launched an Xbox-themed menu called Side Missions, and as part of this, the chain brought back the Black Pepper & Garlic McNuggets from the 2025 World Heist. These were taken from the Japan menu and, for Side Missions, were inspired by moa dishes from Halo. Prices start from £5.39 for six nuggets, or £7.49 for a six-piece everyday value meal. Available from: August 25 until September 22 Fiery Buffalo Dip The dip goes well with Chicken Selects (Picture: Jeff Gilbert / http://www.jeffgilbert.c) This 70p dip has a fiery kick worthy of Ragnaros, the Lord of Fire himself, Azeroth from World of Warcraft. It’s perfect for heating up Chicken Selects. Available from: August 25 until September 22 Balmco Cheesy Potato Bites A potato and cheese pairing (Picture: Jeff Gilbert / http://www.jeffgilbert.c) There’s always a cheesy side available at McDonald’s, but for August, it’s not a dipper; it’s Blamco Cheesy Potato Bites (£2.69 or £6.89 for a sharebox) inspired by Fallout 76. These are crispy potato rings with a soft, fluffy centre, filled with melty cheese and served with ketchup. McDonald’s said the vibrant drink (£2.29) brings a taste of the game’s Japanese setting to life. The focus is on hot honey, but there’s also a creamy, tangy Ranch, and a Korean BBQ one. Available from: July 14 Hot Honey Sausage & Egg McMuffin Spice up your breakfast (Picture: McDonald’s UK) The Hot Honey has been added to several classic menu items, including the Sausage & Egg McMuffin (£6.09). It features a pork sausage patty, lightly seasoned with herbs, a free-range egg, and a slice of cheese, in a hot, toasted English muffin and drizzled with Hot Honey. Maccies claims it’s ‘the perfect way to spice up your breakfast’ and you can also order it as a double for £6.79 Available from: July 14 Hot Honey McCrispy The McCrispy has had a hot honey makeover too (Picture: McDonald’s UK) There’s also a new sweet and spicy version of the McCrispy chicken burger for £9.39.This sees 100% chicken breast in a crispy coating served with iceberg lettuce, hot honey, white cheddar cheese and a sourdough-style sesame-topped bun. Available from: July 14 Big Arch with Bacon The Big Arch can now be ordered with bacon (Picture: McDonald’s UK) The ‘most McDonald’s burger ever’ has been given an upgrade, and you can now order the beast with bacon, priced at £11.89. Available from: July 14 Mozzarella Dippers with Hot Honey Mozzarella Dippers have returned (Picture: McDonald’s UK) Everyone’s favourite side of cheese is back, and now available with different dips (£3.09). The go-to is hot honey, but you can pick any of the new sauces you’d prefer. Available from: July 14 Hot Honey Mini McFlurry The dip comes separately (Picture: McDonald’s UK) Hot Honey has even made its way onto the dessert menu with this one. The ice cream and hot honey are served separately so you can DIY your own McFlurry and add as much spice as you’d like. The dessert costs £2.09, and be warned, fans say this sauce is HOT. Available from: July 14 Cornetto McFlurry and Cornetto Strawberry McFlurry It’s been 17 years since it was last on the menu (Picture: McDonald’s UK) The iconic 00s treat is back on the menu after 17 years! There are two versions: a Cornetto Classico made up of soft dairy ice cream swirled with chocolate sauce and topped with chocolate Cornetto cone pieces. And for the strawberry lovers, there’s the Cornetto Strawberry McFlurry, which includes soft dairy ice cream swirled with strawberry sauce and topped with strawberry Cornetto cone pieces. Available from: July 14 Everything new and returning to McDonald’s UK menu in June 2026 There are two new burgers (Picture: Courtney Pochin) Sweet Carolina BBQ Stack This new World Cup-inspired burger costs £9.19 and features two beef patties, cheese, bacon, crispy and grilled onions, lettuce, and a sweet Carolina BBQ sauce, all inside a toasted bun. Available from: June 9 until July 13 Mexican Chipotle Chicken For chicken fans, you can also get stuck in with the Mexican Chipotle Chicken. Priced at £7.49, this burger sees chicken breast in a crispy coating, served with chipotle mayo, a smoky sauce, slivered and crispy onions, lettuce, and a white cheddar cheese slice. These ingredients are stacked inside a toasted bun with a bumpy top that looks a bit like a football. Available from: June 9 until July 13 Crunchy Cheese Bites Crunchy Cheese Bites are new for June (Picture: Courtney Pochin) Also new on the menu are Crunchy Cheese Bites, cheesy little balls filled with a mix of Gouda and mozzarella and covered in a crispy breadcrumb coating. Customers can choose from a Big Mac, nine Chicken McNuggets, or a McPlant, with fries and a drink, and each meal comes with a collectable cup. Available from: June 9 until July 13 Galaxy Salted Caramel McFlurry The fan-favourite McFlurry is returning, and the Galaxy Chocolate option is also staying on the menu. Both cost £1.89 for a mini size or £2.59 for a regular. Available from: June 9 until July 13 Vanilla Matcha Frappe Maccies is hopping on the matcha trend (Picture: McDonald’s) This drink brings matcha green tea flavouring together with sweet vanilla, and is blended with ice and topped with cream for the ultimate summer sip. A medium size costs £3.69. Available from: June 2 Squishmallows World Cup Happy Meal Happy Meals are also getting a World Cup makeover, and Squishmallows are back. Kids can collect one of the plush toys, dressed in football tops. Available from: June 9 Everything new and returning to McDonald’s UK menu in May 2026 Spicy McCrispy and Cheese & Bacon McCrispy As well as the regular McCrispy, there are new Spicy and Cheese & Bacon versions (Picture: McDonald’s UK) Fans of the McCrispy are in for a real treat, as McDonald’s UK & Ireland is ‘levelling up’ the popular chicken burger, with two new variants, and they’re not limited-edition; they’re permanent. The first is the Spicy McCrispy, which turns up the heat and sees a chicken breast in a crunchy coating, topped with iceberg lettuce and a creamy, spicy mayo that gives a ‘chilli kick’. This is all served in a sourdough-style, sesame-topped bun and will cost £5.99 on its own, or £7.49 as part of a medium meal. If you prefer something a little milder, then there’s a Cheese & Bacon McCrispy. For this, the same crispy chicken breast is paired with black pepper mayo, cheese, bacon, and iceberg lettuce, inside a sourdough-style sesame-topped bun. This option is a little pricer, as the burger alone is £7.09, while a medium meal will set you back £8.59. Available permanently from: April 28 Frank’s RedHot Breakfast Range Breakfast items are getting a spicy makeover with Frank’s RedHot (Picture: McDonald’s) McDonald’s is turning up the heat at breakfast time, launching a new Frank’s RedHot Ketchup, which they describe as a ‘sweet, tangy number’ with ‘spice’. To mark the launch, there’s going to be a new Franks RedHot breakfast range, featuring a Sausage & Egg McMuffin x Frank’s RedHot Ketchup, which will be available as either a Single or a Double McMuffin. Plus, there will be a fiery version of the Breakfast Wrap with the ketchup inside. Available from: April 28 until June 8 Big Tasty and Double Big Tasty The Big Tasty got smaller last year (Picture: McDonald’s UK) The Big Tasty was last seen on the McDonald’s menu at Christmas, when the chain confirmed they’d made a major change to it, upgrading the burger patty to a quarter-pounder size for the first time since 2003. The iconic burger, which some claim is the ‘best by far’, now features a 100% British & Irish quarter pounder beef patty, cheese slices, lettuce, onions, juicy tomato, and a unique smoky flavoured sauce, in a freshly toasted sesame topped bun. Available from: April 28 Biscoff McFlurry One for the Biscoff lovers (Picture: McDonald’s) Those with a sweet tooth are in for a treat, too, as the Biscoff McFlurry is back after one year away. This has a classic dairy soft serve base, swirled with a Biscoff biscuit crumb and is £2.59 for a regular and £1.89 for a mini. Available from: April 28 until June 8 Frozen Cherry Lemonade It was 2025’s drink of the summer (Picture: McDonald’s) If that weren’t enough, 2025’s ‘drink of the summer’ is also back for another round in 2026. The Frozen Cherry Lemonade, which went viral on TikTok last summer, combines ‘tangy’ frozen lemonade with a ‘deliciously sweet’ cherry-flavoured swirl and is £3.09 for a medium. The sweet drink costs £3.69. Available from: April 28 Raspberry x Sprite Zero and Pineapple x Sprite Zero There’s a new raspberry flavour and a pineapple one too (Picture: Mcdonald’s) There are two brand new drinks joining the menu as McDonald’s is introducing two new Sprite Zero Mixology drinks: Raspberry x Sprite Zero and Pineapple x Sprite Zero. Each drink sees Sprite Zero mixed with a sugar-free fruit-flavoured syrup and they cost £2.29. Available from: April 28 Mozzarella Dippers Always a winner, the cheesy treat is back for £2.79, with a salsa dip. Available from: April 28 Everything new and returning to McDonald’s UK menu in March and April 2026 McGriddles It’s finally coming to the UK! (Picture: McDonald’s) The cult US breakfast favourite finally made its way over to the UK, 23 years after it was first launched in America. It features a sausage patty, fried egg, and a slice of American cheese, sandwiched between two maple-flavoured griddle cakes. The griddle cakes are slightly denser and thicker than your average pancake, and they have granulated maple syrup crystals baked into them, so you don’t have to worry about getting in a sticky, syrupy mess when eating. McGriddles are only available on the breakfast menu until 11 AM and cost £3.99 each. Available from: March 17 until April 27 Cadbury Mini Egg McFlurry There’s a new Mini Egg McFlurry (Picture: McDonald’s) There are a few new treats for Easter this year, including this Mini Egg McFlurry, priced at £2.59 for a regular, or £1.89 for a mini. The dessert combines soft dairy ice cream swirled with crushed Mini Eggs and a Cadbury chocolate sauce. Available from: March 17 until April 27 Cadbury Creme Egg McFlurry It’s back (Picture: McDonald’s) A returning seasonal favourite, this one takes the classic Cadbury Creme Egg and turns it into an ice cream topping. Soft dairy ice cream is swirled with Cadbury chocolate shards, and drizzled with Cadbury Creme Egg sauce. The cards feature iconic Maccies characters like Ronald, Grimace, and the chain’s OG mascot, Speedee and there are 24 different ones to collect. Prices start from £7.19 for a medium Big Mac cards meal. Available from: March 17 until April 27 Everything that’s new and returning to McDonald’s UK menu in February 2026 Friends Meal The Friends Meal launches in the UK on February 3 (Picture: McDonald’s) McDonald’s is finally launching the ultimate adult Happy Meal for 90s kids, with this Warner Bros collab. The brand new meal features either a Big Mac, McPlant or 9-piece McNuggets, fries, and a drink, but the pièce de résistance is that the meal comes with a collectable toy based on your favourite characters, with limited-edition figurines of Rachel, Monica, Phoebe, Joey, Chandler and Ross to collect. Prices for the meal start from £9.09 for a medium Big Mac or McPlant meal, and rise to £9.19 for a 9-piece medium Chicken McNugget meal. For those who want large meals, it’s going to cost £9.99 for the Big Mac and McPlant and £10.09 for the McNuggets. Available from: February 3 until March 16 Monica’s Marinara Sauce The limited-edition sauce was created for the Friends meal (Picture: Mcdonald’s) Created especially for the Friends collab, this sauce is described as being a ‘tomato marinara sauce that’s savoury and herby’, and traditionally, marinara sauce is made with tomato, garlic, herbs and onions. Available from: February 3 until March 16 Tikka Chicken Wrap There’s a new wrap on the menu (Picture: McDonald’s) McDonald’s is introducing a brand new Tikka Chicken Wrap, which promises ‘big flavour’. Crispy chicken is paired with a tikka mayo, mango and lime chutney, onions, lettuce and cucumber, all wrapped in a soft toasted tortilla. The chain says it’s a ‘punchy’ wrap designed to ‘deliver all the taste without the mess’ and claims it’s ‘perfect for busy days, commutes and quick breaks between plans’. The wrap costs £3.79 on its own, £6.09 as part of a medium meal, or just £2.49 as part of the Wrap of the Day deal on Wednesday and Sunday. Available from: February 3 Philly Cheese Stack Some think the burger is ‘sensational’ others say it’s ‘boring’ (Picture: McDonald’s) This burger is making a comeback, stacked high with two beef patties, cheese sauce, cheese slices, grilled and crispy onions and pickles, all served in a toasted bun. Priced at £6.69, it’s previously been hailed by some as ‘sensational’ and the ‘best burger ever’ at McDonald’s, but others have taken to Reddit to claim it’s ‘boring’ and they’re ‘disappointed’ to see it making yet another comeback, as it’s not been that long since it was on the menu, as it was available until November last year. Available from: February 3 until March 16 Pizza Mozzarella Dippers There are new Pizza Mozzarella Dippers with Monica’s Marinara Sauce (Picture: McDonald’s) A fun twist on McDonald’s classic mozzarella dippers, these new cheesy treats feature a pizza-style flavoured mozzarella, coated in crispy breadcrumbs and served with Monica’s Marinara Sauce. Available from: February 3 until March 16 Milkybar Crispy Cookie McFlurry One for those wiht a sweet tooth (Picture: McDonald’s) This new £2.59 dessert sees soft ice cream topped with white chocolate-coated crispy balls and a cookie-flavour chocolate sauce. Available from: February 3 until March 16 Brownie Pie So chocolatey (Picture: McDonald’s) A new pie for chocolate lovers, this one has a ‘gooey’ chocolate brownie filling wrapped inside crisp pastry and costs £2.49. Available from: February 3 until March 16 Doughnut Crumble Latte There’s new Friends-themed packaging (Picture: McDonald’s) For this brand new £2.99 drink, doughnut-flavour syrup is added to a latte, then topped with cream and a sprinkle of doughnut crumb. Available from: February 3 until March 16 Munchies Vanilla Cheesecake McFlurry A cheesecake McFlurry (Picture: McDonald’s) There’s also a new Munchies Vanilla Cheesecake McFlurry (£2.59), which combines ice cream and chocolate-coated biscuit balls with a vanilla cheesecake-flavoured sauce. Available from: February 3 until March 16 Everything that’s new and returning to McDonald’s UK menu in January 2026 Chicken Big Mac The chicken version of the classic, which features two patties, a slice of cheese, pickles, lettuce and Big Mac sauce, will be back on McDonald’s menus everywhere for £5.59 on its own or £7.39 as part of a medium meal. Available from: January 5, 2026 (staying on the menu in February) Surf N’ Turf The Surf N’ Turf (Picture: McDonald’s UK) This new item is one for those who struggle to pick between a Cheeseburger and a Filet-O-Fish when they order a McDonald’s. Now you don’t have to choose, as this combo features two British & Irish beef patties, a crispy white Alaskan Pollock fish fillet patty, cheese, onions, pickles, mustard, and a dollop of ketchup, all in a bun. The burger costs £4.39 on its own or £6.89 as part of a medium meal. Available from: January 5, 2026 until February 2 Chicken Cheeseburger No more choosing between chicken and beef (Picture: McDonald’s) Similarly, those torn between chicken or beef won’t have to make any tough decisions, as this creation is the best of both worlds. This one sees a beef patty topped with a crispy coated chicken patty, layered with a slice of cheese, onions, mustard, and ketchup. The burger is £3.89 on its own, or £6.39 as part of a medium meal. Available from: January 5, 2026 until February 2 Apple Pie Mini McFlurry A new sweet treat (Picture: McDonald’s) This new dessert (£2.99) sees two classic items served together, but separately. You get a mini pot of soft dairy ice cream swirled with caramel sauce, paired with a warm Apple Pie that you can dip into it. Alternatively, you can tear up the pie and load it up on top of your McFlurry. Available from: January 5, 2026 until February 2 Espresso Milkshake Espresso milkshake (Picture: McDonald’s) The final new item combines vanilla milkshake with a shot of espresso for £3.69. The two are served side by side, so you can pour as much (or as little) of the coffee as you like into the drink and give it a good stir. Available from: January 5, 2026 until February 2 Big Arch This beast of a burger is said to bring ‘maximum McDonald’s flavour’ and is even bigger and wider in size than the iconic Big Mac, featuring not one but two Quarter Pounder beef patties. Signature Big Arch sauce is squeezed over the top and bottom halves of a new toasted sesame and poppy seed bun, which is then loaded with crispy onions on one side and slivered raw onions on the other, before shredded lettuce and pickles are added too. A slice of white cheddar and a Quarter Pounder patty is placed on each half, with one side being topped with a third and final slice of cheese. This sandwiches nicely between the two beef patties as the box is closed, and the two sides of the burger come together to create the Big Arch. One portion contains four bites. Available from: January 5, 2026 until February 2 Big Mac Sauce Pot Big Mac sauce now comes in a pot (Picture: McDonald’s) The iconic sauce is going to be available in a pot for the first time ever, so fans of it can dunk fries or McNuggets into it too and it’s only 20p per pot.
