Sign in to your TheGamer account Turns out when a series is big enough, it takes more than canceling its next installment and closing the studio behind it to make it go away, especially when you make that baffling decision weeks before the day its fans use to celebrate it each year. That's why, even though we may never get another Mass Effect game, we have been hit with a wave of new Mass Effect merch in the wake of BioWare's closure. Dark Horse Direct The latest addition to that wave is a new statue created by Dark Horse Direct. The latest in a long line of officially licensed Mass Effect statues and figures created by the collectibles company, it's latest, and potentially final, release tied to the series depicts the iconic moment in Mass Effect 3 when Shepard comes face-to-face with Leviathan. Dark Horse teased its new Mass Effect release earlier in the week, confirming that its imminent reveal wasn't a mistake, and that despite BioWare's closure, it wanted to give fans of the studio something to look forward to on N7 Day. The tease noted that the statue would get its full reveal at 9 am PT on November 6. However, that reveal appears to have happened a little earlier than planned, as pre-orders for the Leviathan statue are already live on the Dark Horse website. That means we can now see the statue in all its glory. A stunning recreation of the Leviathan, a race that predates even the Reapers in the Mass Effect universe, but one that the apocalyptic enemies have no knowledge of since they are hidden deep beneath the waves. The statue's store page going live a little early also means we know all of the finer details about the statue outside of its design, including how much it will cost and when it's expected to ship. Price, Size, And Shipping Date Details Dark Horse Direct The bad news is that if you want what might end up being one of the last pieces of official Mass Effect merch ever created, it's going to cost you $299.99. Considerably more expensive than most of Dark Horse's other Mass Effect figures, not only because it's larger (almost 14 inches tall) and more detailed, but also because only 500 of them will ever be made and sold. Each of the 500 statues will be individually numbered, making every one of them unique. As is typically the case with high-end collectibles such as this one, you will have to wait a while once your pre-order has been placed. The statues won't start shipping until July 2027, with some potentially not arriving until September. Mass Effect merch may be all we have to celebrate the now dormant, potentially dead series this N7 Day. Dark Horse's Leviathan statue joins a wearable Mass Effect helmet and three new additions to the series' Youtooz collection. The company that creates the figures revealed the Liara, Joker, and Mordin additions to its collection earlier this week.
