A robot then delivers the cake to their room, without any human involvement. The video showed the robot waiting outside Filippo’s room with a fruit cake and two plates. He opened the door, collected the cake and thanked the robot for the delivery. “Shenzhen is something else. It's my birthday. A robot just woke me up with a cake. Nobody ordered it. The hotel has a system: if your birthday falls during your stay, it auto-orders a cake on Meituan (Chinese Uber Eats) and a robot delivers it. No human involved,” he said in the caption of the post.bros. One user argued that the gift lacked genuineness because it was automated rather than a personalised gesture from someone who remembered the occasion. Filippo, however, said the experience had made him feel like a child again and that he did not mind whether the gesture was automated.Several other users joined the conversation to wish Filippo Facioni a happy birthday, while his post offered a glimpse into how automation is being used to personalise hotel guests’ experiences in Shenzhen.- Ends
