Manasvi Vashishta: From IIT Kharagpur graduate, former VP Dhankhar’s PSO and ACP at centre of Delhi Police protest

Manasvi Vashishta during the protest outside Delhi Police Headquarters | Photo Credit: Special Arrangement From the classrooms of the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Kharagpur, to serving as the personal security officer (PSO) to former Vice-President Jagdeep Dhankhar, Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) Manasvi Vashishta’s career has taken him through several assignments across the country. The 2019-batch Delhi, Andaman and Nicobar Islands Police Service (DANIPS) officer found himself at the centre of an unusual confrontation within the Delhi Police earlier this week, which led to his suspension after a protest by police personnel against his transfer.A mechanical engineering graduate from IIT Kharagpur, Mr. Vashishta, who was suspended by the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) on November 2, has also served with the Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB), in the Andaman and Nicobar Islands and in the Delhi Police Security Unit. His assignments have included serving as Mr. Dhankhar’s PSO from April to July 2025, when the latter resigned as Vice-President. Published - November 05, 2026 11:27 am IST
