Man Utd boss Michael Carrick’s brother confirmed as coach within Tuchel’s England set-up ahead of next fixtures

MICHAEL CARRICK’s younger brother has landed a job in England’s coaching set-up. Graeme Carrick, 41, has been named in the FA‘s official coaching line-up which was published on Wednesday. Carrick is joined in the Under-17s camp by fellow assistant Matt Thorpe and goalkeeping coach Matt Doyle. They will be jointly responsible for developing some of the most promising talents in the country who could eventually feed into Thomas Tuchel‘s senior side. The most recent Under-17s squad featured the likes of Manchester United wonderkid JJ Gabriel and Chelsea starlet Ryan Kavuma-McQueen. Graeme’s football career was cut short by injuries as a youngster while Michael – currently in charge of Manchester United – went on to enjoy great success with the likes of Tottenham, the Red Devils and England. The younger of the siblings dove straight into coaching and took on roles with Newcastle’s youth teams and the FA’s elite youth development sides. Graeme returned to the Magpies in 2022 as head coach of the Under-18s before moving into the senior game. Michael is currently working to stabilise a United side that has taken JUST four points from three winnable fixtures so far this season. Comment now
