Man charged with murder after alleged stabbing in Townsville

A 47-year-old man has been charged with murder following the death of a 53-year-old man in Townsville on Friday.Police said officers were called to a unit complex on Narangi Street in the central suburb of Heatley at about 3pm yesterday and found the man with stab wounds to his leg."First aid was immediately provided by responding officers, however the man died at the scene a short time later," a Queensland Police spokesperson said.A 47-year-old man known to the deceased man was taken into custody at the scene.He was charged with murder as a domestic violence offence overnight and is expected to face Townsville Magistrates Court this morning.The crime scene remains active.
