The man argued that the glasses had prescription lenses and that he could not see properly without them.Lakshay Mehta, an X user, shared a video of the incident on his account, showing the man arguing with theatre staff over the restriction. In the video, the man could be seen recording a security guard as he explained that he was about to miss the 11:50 pm show because he was not being allowed inside.A man who appeared to be a manager asked him not to raise his voice and explained that the staff could not make an exception to the theatre’s rules. The man then explained that he had been stopped because he was wearing Meta glasses. He insisted that the glasses were prescribed to him and that removing them would mean he could not see properly. He also turned towards a security guard who was recording the interaction and argued, “This isn't our fault, this isn't the customer's fault. We bought a ticket for the movie.” A woman who had accompanied him, however, pointed out that the theatre had specifically mentioned the restriction. “They have specifically mentioned Meta glasses aren't allowed, just remove them. Why are you arguing,” she said. The manager then appeared to pull out his phone and show the man where the policy stated that Meta glasses were not permitted. Despite this, the man continued to argue that he could not remove them because of the prescription lenses.According to the caption shared with the video, the theatre had also displayed a banner outside mentioning the restriction. The post questioned why theatres had banned Meta glasses, arguing that someone intent on recording a movie could use a mobile phone anyway.Watch the video here:A man went to watch a movie at PVR wearing Meta glasses, but security stopped him, saying they are not allowed. Staff explained him that PVR has a policy against Meta glasses, which is also mentioned on a banner outside. The man started arguing that he couldn’t remove them because they had prescription lenses. But, I don’t understand why PVR has banned Meta glasses? Anyone who wants to record a movie can do so using a mobile phone too— Lakshay Mehta (@lakshaymehta08) November 5, 2026The man’s argument, however, found little sympathy in the comments. Several users criticised him for challenging a clearly stated theatre policy while simultaneously recording the confrontation using the same Meta glasses.Another user said the terms and conditions had already been shown to him and argued that he should have checked them while booking his ticket instead of challenging the theatre staff at the entrance.Meta glasses are smart glasses developed by Meta that combine ordinary eyewear with features such as built-in cameras, microphones and speakers, allowing users to capture photos and videos hands-free.- Ends
