Actors Maitreyi Ramakrishnan and Priyanka Kedia are all set for a fun face-off in a new video from their upcoming Netflix film Best of the Best. The OTT giant shared a glimpse from the film featuring the two actors in a playful dance showdown, and the choice of soundtrack could not have been more apt. The duo went head-to-head to the upbeat Tamil track Maamadura Annakodi from the film Jigarthanda DoubleX.The face-off sees Maitreyi and Priyanka matching each other’s energy as they groove to the infectious Tamil number. From their expressions to their dance moves, the duo brings their own flair to the song, turning the challenge into a playful showdown.Watch the video here:Maamadura, also known as Maamadurai Annakodi, features music by Santhosh Narayanan and vocals by Dhee. The song was released as part of Jigarthanda DoubleX, Karthik Subbaraj’s 2023 Tamil action drama starring Raghava Lawrence and SJ Suryah. Maitreyi, who is of Sri Lankan Tamil heritage and rose to global fame with Netflix’s Never Have I Ever, has often embraced her Tamil roots. The actor’s latest dance moment with Priyanka makes for a fun crossover, bringing together a globally recognised Netflix face and a Tamil track that continues to enjoy a strong pop-culture presence.The video has already caught attention for the sheer energy of the face-off, with Maitreyi and Priyanka giving the track their own spin. Meanwhile, Best of the Best is a coming-of-age comedy set against the fiercely competitive world of collegiate Bollywood-fusion dance. Directed by Lena Khan and written by Prashanth Venkataramanujam and Hasan Minhaj, the film stars Priyanka Kedia as Anjali and Maitreyi Ramakrishnan as Maya, two childhood best friends whose bond is tested as they compete for the U.S. Championship.The film explores the vibrant world of Bollywood-fusion dance while delving into the challenges of young adulthood and the enduring power of friendship.
