Maguindanao del Norte. INQUIRER FILES COTABATO CITY — Unidentified gunmen shot and injured a village councilor in Datu Odin Sinsuat, Maguindanao del Norte at 11:40 a.m. on Tuesday, police said. The attack that injured Rusman Agar Pinguiaman, 33, a resident of Barangay Baka, Datu Odin Sinsuat town, occurred while the election gun ban is in effect in the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM) for the first parliamentary elections on Sept. 14. Capt. Steffi Salanguit, Police Regional Office-Bangsamoro Autonomous Region (PRO-BAR) spokesperson, said Pinguiaman was taking a coffee break at a roadside restaurant when two men on a motorbike arrived. The suspects immediately fled. Relatives rushed him to the Cotabato Regional and Medical Center in Cotabato City. Salanguit said the motive of the attack and the perpetrators remained unknown and investigation is continuing. She did not say if the attack was related to the Bangsamoro parliamentary elections.
