Magalong warns public against fundraising scam using his name

PHOTO BY INQUIRER.net / ARNEL TACSON BAGUIO CITY — Mayor Benjamin Magalong has warned the public against an individual allegedly using his name to solicit funds by selling tickets for supposed scholarship and feeding program fundraisers. In an advisory issued on Friday, July 17, the mayor’s office said it had received reports of a person falsely claiming to represent Magalong while selling tickets for the purported Balik Eskwela Scholarship Program and Feeding Program Fundraising Campaign of the Law Enforcement Hotline Movement Inc. According to the advisory, the tickets were allegedly offered to an official of Metro Pacific Tollways Corporation. Article continues after this advertisement The mayor’s office clarified that Magalong has no involvement in the transaction and has not authorized any individual or group to use his name for any fundraising activity.
