Lil Durk Found Not Guilty Of Murder-For-Hire

In late 2024, Lil Durk was arrested over a murder-for-hire plot that targeted rival rapper Quando Rondo. He was then hit with additional charges. On Friday (Sept. 11), the Chicago rapper was found not guilty on all charges. In 2022, Rondo was the intended target of a shooting near the Beverly Center, but the gunfire missed and killed his cousin, 24-year-old Saviay'a Robinson. Prosecutors accused Durk of paying to have Rondo killed after a member of Rondo's entourage fatally shot rapper King Von at an Atlanta nightclub in 2020. Deandre "OTF Dede" Wilson and David "Browneyez" Lindsey were tried alongside Durk and were convicted of stalking and stalking conspiracy charges, but acquitted of murder for hire.Banks' attorneys maintained that Durk wasn't involved in the plot and that it was Banks' former personal assistant Kavon "OTF Vonnie" Grant who planned the intended killing of Rondo to impress his boss. Though Durk's been acquitted of these charges, he will remain in custody to appear in court for a second trial on a racketeering charge. "While we are disappointed with the jury's decision regarding Durk Banks, AKA Lil Durk, we look forward to presenting our evidence at his second trial, scheduled for 5 October, when he will face racketeering murder and firearms charges," First Assistant U.S. Attorney Bill Essayli said in a statement.
