Aldi Ho and Josie Silverman, the two members of the UK electroclash duo Lifeloose, met while studying opera and electronic music, respectively, at London's Guildhall Middle School. Apparently, they became a live sensation before they even released anything, and they finally dropped their debut single, which is also called "Lifeloose," earlier this year. Today, they follow that one up with a new song that's got the catchy, memorable title "07XXXXXXXXX.""07XXXXXXXXX" is the sort of song that would've gone crazy at hipster dance parties in the '00s. The beat is harsh and bleepy electro, with a few grating bleep noises that remind me of the beep before the static noise on old dial-up modems. The lyrics are deadpan thirst-trap flirting about how they just wanna get your number in their telephone. In a press release, the duo says, "We’re taking the piss out of classic capital city club romance and fantasizing what it would be like if we had hoes — but with a squelchy bass, heavy electro drums, and glossy girly vocals. Let’s get anglophonic." Sure, let's do that.Right now, Lifeloose have 13 live shows coming up, almost all within London city limits. Below, you'll find their "tour" dates and director Claryn Chong's extremely lo-res video for "07XXXXXXXXX."
