Lebanon’s prime minister calls for global aid amid humanitarian crisis in south

Lebanon’s prime minister has urged for international support amid the deepeninng humanitarian crisis south of the country. Speaking at the sidelines of the UN General Assembly, Nawaf Salam said the situation is "particularly urgent" in southern Lebanon. Salam added that supporting families displaced by Israeli attacks and threats, as well as restoring basic humanitarian needs "cannot be postponed until the current crisis is considered over". "For Lebanon, moving beyond [the] crisis means confronting these questions now," he said.
