Lawlor set to miss Wales' Nations League games

Cardiff City head coach Brian Barry-Murphy has revealed centre-back Dylan Lawlor is "unlikely" to be available for Wales' Nations League matches in Portugal and Denmark next month.Craig Bellamy's side go to Lisbon on Thursday, 24 September before playing in Copenhagen three days later. However, it appears 20-year-old Lawlor will not be fit, having not played since being injured when last on international duty in June."Dylan injured his knee in the game against Ghana so he's not close to returning yet," said Barry-Murphy, following Cardiff's 2-2 draw with Sheffield United on Saturday. He also stopped short of putting a timescale on the highly-rated youngster's availability."He's starting to make good progress now and he's back doing some jogging, but he's nowhere close to returning for us yet so it's impossible to say when [he'll be back]," added Barry-Murphy.Earlier this year Lawlor, who has won six caps for Wales, was sidelined for a month after picking up a medial ligament knee injury in early January. He returned in time to start Wales' World Cup play-off semi-final defeat against Bosnia-Herzegovina, with Bellamy praising him post-match for an "outstanding" performance.
