KSRTC to operate 850 extra buses for Gandhi Jayanti weekend

The Karnataka State Road Transport Corporation (KSRTC) will operate 850 additional buses from Bengaluru to various destinations in Karnataka and neighbouring States in view of Gandhi Jayanti on October 2 and the following weekend.The special services will be operated on October 1 and 2 from Bengaluru, while additional buses will run towards Bengaluru from various intra-state and inter-state destinations on October 4 to cater to the expected passenger rush.From Kempegowda Bus Station, special buses will operate to destinations including Dharmasthala, Kukke Subrahmanya, Shivamogga, Hassan, Mangaluru, Kundapura, Sringeri, Horanadu, Davangere, Hubballi, Dharwad, Belagavi, Vijayapura, Gokarna, Sirsi, Karwar, Raichur, Kalaburagi, Ballari, Koppal, Yadgir, Bidar, Tirupati, Vijayawada, and Hyderabad, among other places.Special services from Mysuru Road Bus Station will connect Mysuru, Hunsur, Piriyapatna, Virajpet, Kushalnagar, and Madikeri.Premier special buses from the BMTC bus station at Shanthinagar TTMC will operate towards destinations including Madurai, Kumbakonam, Chennai, Coimbatore, Tiruchirappalli, Palakkad, Thrissur, Ernakulam, and Kozhikode.According to a release, KSRTC has also made advance online reservation available for the special services through its website. Passengers with reserved tickets have been advised to check their designated boarding points.“A 5% fare discount will be available when four or more passengers book tickets together, while a 10% discount will be offered on return journey tickets when onward and return tickets are booked simultaneously,” the release stated.Additional services will also be operated from taluk and district bus stands based on passenger demand, the release added.
