Kate Winslet to Star in Vengeance Drama ‘Unheard’ at Netflix From ‘Adolescence’ Writer Jack Thorne

Kate Winslet is set to star in a new limited series for Netflix called “Unheard.” It’s billed as a “Thelma & Louise”-style vengeance drama. “Adolescence” scribe Jack Thorne has written the show, which is comprised of five episodes. It is set to start shooting next year. Winslet will star alongside Maxine Peake (“Say Nothing”) as two sisters who go on the run after “an act of vengeance goes wrong,” according to the logline. “As they are desperately pursued, we ask the question: What pushed them to this reckless act, and was it ever their intention to get away with it?” Mounia Akl directs. Popular on Variety Netflix head of U.K. content Anne Mensah unveiled the new show during a panel at the Edinburgh TV Festival, where she also announced a number of new commissions including a “Top Boy” spin-off with Barry Keoghan and a new Roald Dahl show. Warp Films, Matriarch Productions and Plan B produce the show with Winslet also serving as an exec producer alongside Thorne.
