Muscat: Joint search efforts are underway for an Omani citizen who went missing after drowning in rough sea conditions while swimming off Shiya Beach in the Wilayat of Sur, South Al Sharqiyah Governorate, yesterday evening.The Royal Oman Police stated: "The search operation involves the Coast Guard Police Unit, led by the South Al Sharqiyah Police Command, Police Aviation, and the Civil Defence and Ambulance Authority (CDAA)." The citizen has been missing since the evening of 30 September 2026, following an incident in which he was reportedly swept away by turbulent seas while swimming. Search teams and supporting units are continuing their efforts to locate him.
