Jodie uses boiling water in sick bid to injure baby Harper in Coronation Street – and she’s not finished yet

Jodie Ramsey’s (Olivia Frances-Brown) only goal in Coronation Street right now is to convince Shona Platt (Julia Goulding) that she isn’t being a good mum to baby Harper – and it appears to be working. Yesterday, the character recognised that Shona was exhausted and decided to take advantage. She waited until Shona was asleep on the sofa, and then placed a cake in the oven and turned the temperature up. With the fire alarm switched off, Shona failed to realise the house was filling up with smoke. As Jodie got to work checking on baby Harper and taking the burnt cake out of the oven, David comforted Shona. Shona was certain that she took the cake out of the oven, but also acknowledged how tired she had felt recently, and wasn’t quite sure if she could trust her own mind. That evening, Jodie took pleasure in supporting David, who was beginning to worry about his wife. As Shona prepared a bath for baby Harper, she failed to spot Jodie pouring boiling water into the tub. When he entered, Jodie told him that she could see steam coming from Harper’s bath water. David checked, and got a huge shock when he realised just how hot the water was.
