Jimmy Kimmel Wins Emmy For Second Year In A Row, ‘Jeopardy!’ Scores Game Show Prize, Again

Jimmy Kimmel has another Emmy. The comedian has picked up for Outstanding Host for a Game Show for his work on ABC’s Who Wants To Be A Millionaire. It is his second consecutive win in the category, having scored it for the same show last year. Kimmel beat Celebrity Family Feud’s Steve Harvey, Jeopardy!’s Ken Jennings, Pop Culture Jeopardy!’s Colin Jost and Match Game’s Martin Short. Apart from Pop Culture Jeopardy!, which moved from Amazon in its first season to Netflix for its second season, the category was dominated by ABC shows. “Thank you to whoever decided to put our category first because we won last year and it was nothing but seat fillers,” Kimmel said on stage at the Peacock Theater after winning the award. Watch on Deadline The win comes as Kimmel is one of the favorites to win Outstanding Variety Series at the Primetime Emmys on September 14. Jimmy Kimmel Live! is up against The Late Show with Stephen Colbert, The Daily Show, Last Week Tonight with John Oliver and Saturday Night Live after the Outstanding Talk Series and Outstanding Scripted Variety Series categories were merged. However, Kimmel’s win didn’t foreshadow a change in the winner for Outstanding Game Show. Who Wants To Be A Millionaire, once again, lost out to Jeopardy!, which has won the award four times in a row since it was moved out of the daytime Emmys in 2023. Jeopardy! also beat out Celebrity Family Feud, The Price Is Right and Wheel of Fortune. The show is exec produced by Michael Davies with Sarah Whitcomb Foss and Bari Jean Dorman as co-exec producers.
