Jharkhand Minister Deepika Pandey Singh’s daughter and three others die in road accident

Representative image. | Photo Credit: Getty Images/iStockphotos Congress leader and Jharkhand Rural Development Minister Deepika Pandey Singh’s daughter Trisha Singh and three others died in a road accident on the Ranchi-Jamshedpur National Highway early morning on Thursday (September 24, 2026).Jharkhand Health Minister and Congress leader Irfan Ansari confirmed the deaths in a social media post in X. “Extremely heartbreaking and soul-wrenching news... Just moments ago, I received the deeply sorrowful information that this morning, in a road accident on the NH highway in Jamshedpur, our little sister and Rural Development Minister Deepika Pandey Ji’s daughter has passed away. In this unbearable hour of grief, I express my deepest condolences to Deepika Ji and the entire family. The pain of a mother losing her child cannot be expressed in words. May God grant a place at his divine feet to the departed soul and bestow strength upon the bereaved family to endure this immense sorrow,” Mr. Ansari wrote on X this morning.According to the police officer, the speeding car in which four were travelling rammed the truck parked on the road. The locals and the police used a gas cutter to cut open the car and pulled all four people out of the vehicle. The accident occurred near Domuhani Marine Drive, under the jurisdiction of the Sonari police station in Jamshedpur.Police took all four to Mahatma Gandhi Memorial Medical College and Hospital, where doctors declared them dead.Chief Minister Hemant Soren also expressed deep grief over the incident saying, “The extremely distressing and heart-wrenching news of the demise of fellow Minister and sister Ms. Deepika Pandey Singh ji’s daughter and other individuals in the road accident on the NH highway in Jamshedpur has left my heart profoundly grieved. The pain of losing one’s child is beyond words and unbearable for any parent and family. In this extremely difficult time, my deepest condolences are with sister Deepika ji and the bereaved families. There are no words for this irreparable loss. May Marang Buru grant peace to the souls of the departed and provide strength to the grieving families to bear this immense sorrow.”Mr. Soren’s wife and Gandey MLA Kalpana Murmu Soren expressed grief on X saying, “It is impossible to express in words the pain of losing one’s child. In this hour of hardship, my deepest condolences are with Deepika Ji and all the bereaved family members.”Leader of Opposition in the Jharkhand Legislative Assembly Babulal Marandi also wrote on X, “I am deeply heartbroken by the tragic news of the untimely demise of the little girl injured in the road accident.
