Janhvi Kapoor jokes Sridevi saw 'potential' in her after nose job

Actor Janhvi Kapoor has shared an amusing memory of her late mother, Sridevi, and how she reacted to her decision to join films. In a recent conversation with her maternal cousin and actor Maheswari on Galatta Plus Tamil, Janhvi recalled that Sridevi was initially unsure about her becoming an actor. However, she suggested that her mother's opinion may have changed after she underwent a nose job.During the conversation, Maheswari remembered how Sridevi had expressed concerns about Janhvi entering the film industry. She said the late actor was aware of the hard work and commitment the profession demanded."Jaanu wants to be in films, but I'm not very keen because it's a lot of hard work, a lot of dedication, and you have to be really strong to get in there," Maheswari recalled Sridevi telling her.Janhvi then shared what she thought might have changed her mother's mind. Laughing about the incident, she said, "I think maybe you should cut this out, but I think before I did my nose, she was unsure. She was like, 'I don't think it's' After I did my nose, she's like, 'Yeah, there's potential'." Sridevi died in February 2018, aged 54. She was in Dubai to attend the wedding celebrations of her nephew, actor Mohit Marwah, when news of her sudden death emerged.Her death came as a shock to the film industry and her fans. According to the Dubai Police investigation, the actor died due to accidental drowning in the bathtub of her hotel apartment after losing consciousness.Janhvi Kapoor's upcoming projects Janhvi was recently seen alongside Ram Charan in Peddi, which also sparked conversations about the portrayal of her character.
