Ja’Marr Chase Shares His Explosive Workout

2 min readJA’MARR CHASE IS one of the most explosive playmakers in the NFL. The Cincinnati Bengals wide receiver has been a force throughout his first five seasons as a pro—as of press time, his 57 receiving touchdowns are the most of any player since he entered the league in 2021.To keep his body right so those touchdown totals continue to climb, Chase works to hone those gamebreaking physical attributes, mainly focusing on speed and strength. “I don’t train to jump high,” he tells Men’s Health. “I train to be explosive and quicker—and also to be in the best shape. Conditioning is the main part.” Thanks to that extra emphasis on his cardio, he won’t just blow by defenders at the start of a game. His workouts are designed to help him keep up his dogged pace for all four quarters.Chase works on the track with a coach to improve his speed, but also pushes sleds and weights to ramp up his power and runs cone drills on turf to improve his change of direction and agility. All that training keeps him confident. He says that Jerry Rice, the NFL’s all-time receptions leader, is the best receiver he’s watched on tape. Besides himself, of course.Check out Chase’s workout and more details about his training habits, favorite (and only) teammate to work out with, and what he thinks about recovery in the video.Ja’Marr Chase’s Explosive Off-Field WorkoutBand-Assisted Mobility Work3-Cone DrillSled Push/Backwards Pull3 to 4 reps of 10 to 15 yardsRainbow Medball Slam5 reps per sideBulgarian Split Squat2 sets of 6 repsIncline Dumbbell Press3 sets of 5 repsAir Bike Cooldown10 minutesWant more celebrity workout routines?
