Published August 17, 2026 03:29 PM The Vikings placed safety/linebacker Jamal Adams on season-ending injured reserve on Monday and head coach Kevin O’Connell detailed the specific injury that landed him on the list a little later in the day.Adams suffered a non-contact injury in last Saturday’s game against the Giants and initial word was that it affected his knee. On Monday, however, O’Connell said that Adams actually tore his right quadriceps. It’s an injury that Adams is all too familiar with. He tore his left quad while playing for the Seahawks in Week 1 of the 2022 season and missed the rest of the year. He returned to action in 2023, but missed the first three games of the regular season and has talked about how long it took him to feel back to himself after the injury. Adams, who turns 31 in October, is now looking at another long rehab if he plans to continue playing beyond this season.
