Ravi Kishan seems to be having a moment on the internet. These days, almost everything the BJP MP says or does finds its way on to social media. And his latest viral moment? A slip of the tongue involving Rahul Gandhi and the Prime Minister’s chair.Ravi Kishan was taking a swipe at Rahul Gandhi, but one line from his attack has now grabbed the internet’s attention. While mocking the Congress leader over the alleged elbowing of a party worker, the BJP MP said, "Jab aap PM banoge..."(When you become Prime Minister). The slip of the tongue was enough to send social media into a tizzy, with Kishan’s remarks going viral. But while trying to take a dig at Gandhi’s Prime Ministerial ambitions, Kishan ended up giving social media something else to talk about.“Kitna dukhad hai ki apne karyakartaaon ko woh kohni maar rahe hain. Aap Pradhan Mantri banne ja rahe ho aur aap abhi se kohni maar rahe ho apne karyakartaaon ko (It is unfortunate that he is elbowing his own party workers. You are going to become the Prime Minister, but you are already elbowing your own workers),” he said while speaking to the media. He then took the jibe a step further, wondering how many elbows Gandhi would throw around if he ever became Prime Minister.“If you ever become Prime Minister, how many elbows will you throw at the country?” he asked. And just like that, the elbow became the star of the show. In a video of his remarks, Kishan repeatedly used the word ‘kohni’ (elbow), even coining the phrase ‘kohinibaaz Prime Minister’ to mock Gandhi’s alleged ambitions. He suggested that if Gandhi was elbowing his own party workers now, the country might have to worry about getting the same treatment if he ever made it to the top job.“We have seen many leaders, but never one who elbows his own workers while moving ahead,” Kishan said, questioning how Gandhi could dream of becoming Prime Minister. The comments have since made their way across social media, with the repeated references to elbows providing plenty of material for online chatter. An Instagram user took a swipe at Kishan and wrote, “Thank you for saying Rahul is better than the current PM, @ravikishann.”“I know he is an undercover agent (laughing emojis),” read another comment, while many others wrote, “New meme unlocked.”The row began after a video, shared by BJP-linked social media accounts, purportedly showed Gandhi elbowing a party worker during a march against Gyanesh Kumar on Tuesday. The footage has been circulating online, with Kishan among those using it to attack the Congress leader. This is not the first time Kishan has hit out at Gandhi over the clip. Earlier this week, the BJP MP accused the Congress leader of “losing his mental balance” over the same incident.Speaking to reporters in Raipur, Kishan also accused the Opposition of disrupting public life after failing to defeat the BJP in elections. He questioned its allegations of vote theft and irregularities in electronic voting machines, arguing that protests were causing inconvenience to ordinary people, including patients travelling in ambulances, and misleading young people. For now, though, it is Kishan’s own words that have taken centre stage. He set out to question Gandhi’s elbowing skills, but the internet has found its own reason to keep the conversation going. In the world of viral clips, sometimes the punchline has a way of elbowing its way to the front.- Ends
