Star Trek: Strange New Worlds has just met the end of an era on Paramount+, and the sci-fi series does so not that long after new episodes were released on the streaming service. Star Trek is one of the most popular sci-fi franchises of all time. Dating back to the release of Star Trek: The Original Series back in 1966, the Star Trek franchise has since expanded to include a wide array of TV shows and movies that both exist within the franchise's original timeline and more. Among the many modern Star Trek TV shows on Paramount+ is Strange New Worlds. Star Trek: Strange New Worlds was born as a spin-off of Star Trek: Discovery. The sci-fi series uses many characters from Star Trek: The Original Series, exploring younger versions of players like Christopher Pike, Spock, Number One, James T. Kirk, and more, serving as a direct prequel to one of the biggest sci-fi TV shows of all time. After having recently seen the release of its season 4 finale just a couple of weeks ago on Paramount+ on September 24, Star Trek: Strange New Worlds has now suffered a major hit on the streaming service's biggest chart, a surprising update. Star Trek: Strange New Worlds Just Ended Its Era As A Top 10 Hit According to data from FlixPatrol, Star Trek: Strange New Worlds is no longer one of the series on Paramount+'s global Top TV Shows chart. The sci-fi series was last seen on that coveted list on Sunday, October 4. At that time, Star Trek: Strange New Worlds stood as the 10th most-watched TV show on Paramount+ worldwide. Since then, the sci-fi series has yet to make its way back to the streamer's global chart. At the time of writing, Paramount+'s global chart has Marshals as its #1 TV show, with fellow Taylor Sheridan series Lioness, Tulsa King, Yellowstone, and Dutton Ranch also present. Based on the streaming report, Star Trek: Strange New Worlds only managed to hold on to the chart for a week and a half with no new episodes being released on Paramount+. Despite the fact that the multi-season Star Trek series is no longer one of the streaming service's most popular TV shows in the world right now, fans can still find it trending in multiple countries. Right now, Star Trek: Strange New Worlds is trending on Paramount+ in Austria, where it is the streamer's 8th most popular series, in Germany, at 7th, and in Switzerland, at 6th (via FlixPatrol). The Show's Chart Drop Couldn't Come At A Worse Time Image via Paramount+ Star Trek: Strange New Worlds has fallen off the Paramount+ global chart right as it gets ready to come back for its fifth and final season. The Star Trek series will return with a shortened final season, going from the usual 10 episodes per season of the first four seasons to Star Trek: Strange New Worlds season 5's six episodes. As fans' hopes remain for a potential sequel, Star Trek: Year One, that would follow Paul Wesley's Captain Kirk and the rest of the gang, the fact that Star Trek: Strange New Worlds has now fallen off Paramount+'s global charts is unfortunate timing.
