Israeli strikes on Gaza killed four children in the past five days and destroyed humanitarian supplies and damaged critical water infrastructure, Unicef said. The children, aged between two and 16, were killed in separate strikes, including one who died from wounds sustained last week. On Tuesday, five other children aged eight to 17 were hit by live fire or shrapnel following strikes and suffered life-changing injuries, Unicef said, according to a statement by the United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA). A Unicef partner’s warehouse was also heavily damaged by a strike, destroying more than $770,000 worth of nutrition supplies intended to support more than 45,000 children, pregnant women and breastfeeding mothers. A Unicef-supported water well and desalination facility serving more than 4,000 people in Deir al-Balah was severely damaged on Monday. Partners are now trucking water from alternative sources. An explosive munition detonated about 30 metres from a UN convoy carrying fuel from Kerem Shalom as it crossed the so-called “Yellow Line” in Rafah, the statement read.
