'Is there a doctor? We need a pilot!' New footage from hijacked plane shows panic as passengers realise nobody is flying the plane while fighting to save hero captain

New footage from the hijacked FlyDubai plane shows the moment panicked passengers realised that nobody was flying the aircraft. In the video clip shared by Israeli media, which was filmed from a seat near the cockpit, one person says 'he tried to crash the plane,' in reference to the Omani copilot who stabbed the plane’s Indian captain.Wednesday's flight FZ1073 from Dubai to Tel Aviv erupted into bloodshed at 34,000ft, after captain Smit Machchhar was knifed by his copilot as he fought to protect the jet's controls – as well as the lives of 174 passengers on board. 'Is there a doctor? We need a pilot!' people can be heard shouting in the dramatic footage, with the anxious cries of fellow passengers audible in the background. Others yell 'take him out' in the direction of the cockpit, and order passengers in the cabin to 'sit down' amid the chaotic situation. In the clip, Dr. Shota Musaev, an Israeli dentist, can be seen rushing to the front of the plane to provide medical treatment. As the shouts of 'sit down' persist, a man asks in Hebrew whether there is an additional pilot on the flight, to which someone responds affirmatively. The aircraft went into a nosedive before Yaniv Hayun, a plumber who helped storm the cockpit to subdue the copilot, stabilised it, allowing a second pair of FlyDubai pilots onboard to take control of the plane and land it in Saudi Arabia. He talks about killing Jews.'We can't say for sure but it seems like he was a suicide actor who was probably going to try to down that plane.' A heroic six-year-old girl and her mother played a crucial role in preventing the attempted hijacking, it has been revealed.Nina Manes along with her mother, Tali, had gone to the bathroom just before the copilot stabbed the captain in an attempt to take control of the aircraft. The girl then heard suspicious noises emerging from the cockpit. 'There was blood all over the cockpit and very, very sharp fighting moves,' she told the Israeli Channel 12.'I screamed: "He is stabbing the pilot, he is stabbing the pilot, come help!" People looked at me and didn’t understand.'The plane then 'entered a tailspin and began to dive'.This is when Nina’s father, Tzvika, hurried to grab his daughter from the bathroom. He said: 'The shrieks of my daughters when the plane nosedived [are still with me].''Dad, we don't want to die,' he heard his wife and daughter screaming. Their cries 'were the triggers that caused me to run inside the cockpit,' he said.He and two other passengers then rushed into the cockpit to neutralise the attacker. One of the heroic passengers on board was Georgian Jewish dentist, Dr Musaev. Speaking exclusively to the Daily Mail after returning to Israel, the 47-year-old recounted how he rushed to the aid of the dying Mr Machchhar – as the attacker pleaded with him to end his life. 'Everything was going smoothly when, suddenly, we felt the aircraft drop sharply. 'We thought it was just turbulence. I took out my camera and started filming. Exactly half a minute later, we heard noises from the front: shouting, and a woman screaming, "Knife! Knife!",' Mr Musaev said. 'That was when I got up. I realised it was a terrorist attack and joined the people ahead of us, who were the first to rush into the cockpit and pull the terrorist out.'The group of four men, he recounted, then 'grabbed the attacker by the neck' as they dragged him out of the cockpit. 'We tied the terrorist up, binding his hands and feet,' he added. '[The attacker said] nothing apart from begging us: "Kill me".' Passengers from the flight wait at Tabuk airport in Saudi Arabia after their flight from Dubai to Israel was diverted Passengers told Israel's Channel 12 that they heard shouts from the front of the jet relating to the altercation between the pilotsIn the same moment, Mr Musaev was pleaded with by the dying captain as he helped administer first aid, who said: 'Save me. I don't want to die here.''The pilot was losing a lot of blood,' he said. 'His arm was badly slashed, as was his neck, and he had a very deep wound at the back of his head. Everything in the cockpit was covered in blood, but he was conscious. We were effectively left without first-aid supplies. Somehow, we managed to stop the bleeding with pieces of cloth.' In his harrowing account, the dentist, who was travelling with his wife and children, hailed his partner's heroism during the traumatic incident.'My wife usually gets frightened quite easily, but at that moment she found tremendous strength and was helping absolutely everyone there, every single person,' he said. 'When we met prime minister Netanyahu today, people mentioned it there too. Everyone said they had received the greatest possible psychological support from my wife.'Asked what moment will stay with him, Mr Musaev sobbed: 'Probably when I told my wife I was going to help and effectively said goodbye to her.' The wounded Mr Machchhar has been praised for his bravery internationally, including from India's prime minister Narendra Modi and Mr Netanyahu. Mr Musaev believes the pilot's ability to open the cockpit door so the men could enter was a pivotal moment in the plane's survival. He said: 'Had the cockpit remained locked, we probably would not have been able to do anything. It would have been another September 11, the same as what happened in America.'In successfully preventing the believed suicide mission, the dentist believes the 'world has been saved a war'.The United Arab Emirates has started investigations seeking to establish the circumstances and motives and determine 'whether the incident was linked to any terrorist activity or purpose, or involved prior planning or direction', the UAE state news agency reported on Thursday.Israel's envoy to the UAE, Yossi Shelley, earlier said it was too early to draw conclusions and no motive had been determined.'We know that he underwent Islamist radical indoctrination. That appears to be something we are gathering from his personal information,' Mr Netanyahu said in an interview with Fox News. Two Israeli security officials said Israel's initial assessment was that the co-pilot, identified by Israel as an Omani national, was likely acting alone, though the investigation was still ongoing.Mr Netanyahu said it was clear that the co-pilot was suicidal. 'It looks very likely that he was going to down the plane,' Mr Netanyahu said. Coupled with 'the Islamist tendencies, that radicalisation that are found in his background, I think that's... a pretty good clue,' he said, without elaborating.'But again, I don't make final conclusions yet. But that's the indications we have now,' he added. The United Arab Emirates has started investigations seeking to establish the circumstances and motives and determine 'whether the incident was linked to any terrorist activity or purpose, or involved prior planning or direction,' the UAE state news agency reported on Thursday.Another Israeli official said Israel was not receiving all the information it sought from the Saudis and that the Israeli intelligence services, Mossad and Shin Bet, were investigating the incident as well.In the first comment by the Saudi government on the incident, the Interior Ministry said in a statement that the captain and co-pilot, who were both treated in a hospital for injuries, left for Abu Dhabi on Thursday morning after receiving medical clearance. Saudi Arabia said it had conducted the preliminary investigation with security teams from the United Arab Emirates. With the co-pilot now in the United Arab Emirates, Israeli investigators 'can now join the UAE's investigation team and get precise knowledge of what his motives were, who was behind him, what his plans were,' Israeli government spokesperson David Mencer told Fox News.'We have constraints that say you can't have pilots from countries that don't have diplomatic relations with Israel. So obviously he was able to go through that,' Mr Netanyahu told Fox.Asked if there was any indication of Iranian involvement, he said it was too early to say. There have been no official suggestions from Israel of Iranian involvement. The two Israeli security officials said Israel had not identified any Iranian involvement so far.
