Iran turns to land trade routes to counter maritime blockade

We have more from Iran’s top security official, Mohsen Rezaei. Rezaei says Tehran has started activating overland trade corridors to reduce its dependence on shipping and counter the maritime blockade. He pointed to Iran’s borders with 15 neighbouring countries, arguing that its geographical position gives it alternatives to sea-based commerce. Rezaei also said Iran and Oman had agreed on a new international corridor through the Strait of Hormuz, which Tehran would oversee. “The new international corridor that Iran manages has been determined with the Omani brothers and will be announced in the coming days,” Rezaei said, according to state media.
