Iran denies involvement in suspected plot targeting UK airbase

Iran’s embassy in the UK has “categorically” rejected and condemned speculation linking Tehran to a suspected plot targeting a UK military airbase used by the United States. The embassy said the claims were “unfounded and malicious” and criticised British individuals and media outlets for attempting to link Iran to the incident at RAF Fairford. The embassy also threatened legal action to “safeguard the rights and interests of the country and its people” over what it described as misleading and damaging media reports. UK counter-terrorism police said five men, all UK nationals in their mid-20s, had been arrested in connection with the incident.
