After all, the One Direction alum shared a glimpse into Khai's two celebrations—one at home and another at an amusement park—for her 6th birthday. Malik began the Sept. 21 Instagram post with a snap of him lighting the candles on her NeeDoh-inspired cake, which matched the dining room's rainbow-themed decorations and the gift bags on the table perfectly. The 6-year-old also spent the weekend with her friends at the Nickelodeon Universe theme park and arcade in New Jersey's American Dream Mall for a Squishmallow-themed party. The birthday girl arrived in a Squishmallow dress and styled her hair in a high braid. But the pièce de résistance for the occasion—which included themed plates, cups, tablecloth and a birthday sign—was the four-tiered cake ready to be cut into. The colorful dessert was adorned with miniature Squishmallows and topped with a large "6" between 4 lollipops. "Khai's 6th birthday this weekend!!" Malik captioned the post. "Big thank you to everyone who made it extra special." "The girls had the BEST time," he continued, before expressing gratitude to the baker behind the desserts. "The cake is epic, as always thank you!" Khai, who turned 6 on Sept. 19, also celebrated at home with mom. "My girl," Hadid captioned an Instagram Story photo of Khai's annual birthday breakfast: bacon and a cupcake. "My life!!!!" While the supermodel and the "Pillow Talk" singer are no longer together—they were on and off until their 2021 breakup—they've remained united when it comes to their daughter. In fact, Malik said being Khai's dad has hit all the right notes in his life and made him a better man."Since I've had my daughter, the main thing in my mind is trying to be a good example to her," he said on the Call Her Daddy podcast in July 2023. "That's why I'm even doing this interview, you know? I used to get a lot of anxiety around having a conversation like this. And I want her to be able to look at me and be like, 'My dad's doing this.'" And although Malik and Hadid didn't hold each other close tonight and always, the 33-year-old will always have love for his ex. As he put it, "I will always love G, because she is the reason my child is on this Earth, and I have the utmost respect for her."
