I was working for one of the best airlines in Qatar, and my family was not very happy with my decision,” he said.Looking back at the past three years, Aditya said he was happy with how things had turned out. He described Mysuru as one of India's cleanest cities and said the quality of life there had been a major positive. “Three years later, when I look at my life, I have got married and settled in what I feel is one of the best cities in India - Mysuru, one of the cleanest cities. The quality of life is amazing,” he said.Aditya acknowledged that the decision had not been easy and that not many people had supported him when he chose to leave his job. He also admitted that his current life came with its own professional challenges and was not always comfortable. “So, I took the risk, although not many people appreciated my decision at the time. But when I look at my life now, of course, it is not easy. It is not as though I am living a very comfortable life. There are challenges when it comes to work, but I am living life on my terms,” he said. For Aditya, however, the freedom to make his own choices makes the challenges worthwhile: “There are days when I have to wake up late at night, but there is a lot of freedom when you do it willingly. For this life, I am grateful.”Aditya Singh's story resonated with several social media users, including people who had made similar career decisions. One user, who said they had also worked as cabin crew for Qatar Airways, shared their own experience of leaving the job to pursue a different path.“I was cabin crew too, and when I left, everyone said it was the wrong decision. But today, I am building my own legacy,” the user wrote.Another user, who works on a ship, related to his emphasis on freedom and being able to choose how to live.“I can relate to what you are saying - the freedom to be home, to go out anywhere, to be with the people you want to be with, to choose your work and your life instead of feeling caged. I can relate to this too, as I work on a ship,” the comment read.A viewer also spoke about the importance of prioritising personal peace over external expectations.“Living life on your own terms is a blessing. Enjoy it. Trying to measure life against external benchmarks has never resulted in peace. You are on a path to peace, not temporary happiness. God bless you,” the user commented.Several other social media users expressed admiration for those willing to take risks and walk away from stable employment.- Ends
