(Photo: ITG)The India Today Group has launched the 'Pollution Ka Solution' campaign, a five-week citizen-led initiative focused on finding practical ways to tackle Delhi’s persistent air pollution problem. The campaign seeks to shift the conversation from repeatedly highlighting poor air quality to developing solutions that can be tested, measured and implemented on a larger scale. With vehicular emissions identified as a major contributor to Delhi’s pollution, the initiative will primarily focus on clean mobility and reducing emissions from vehicles.Citizens have been invited to submit ideas that could help improve the city’s air quality through the campaign’s dedicated online platform. The proposals will undergo a structured assessment involving experts, industry representatives and feasibility checks on the ground. The objective is to identify ideas that are not only innovative but also capable of working in real-world conditions. Some shortlisted proposals could subsequently be tested on the ground to assess their effectiveness and potential for wider adoption. The initiative’s jury includes Prof Manindra Agrawal (Director of IIT Kanpur), Kalli Purie (Vice Chairperson and Executive Editor-in-Chief of the India Today Group), Naresh Priyadarshi (Delhi Pollution Control Committee), Dr Neelam Mohan (Senior Director and HOD, Pediatrics, Medanta - The Medicity), and India's 1983 cricket World Cup winning captain Kapil Dev. The five-week campaign will culminate in a Grand Finale, where selected proposals will be presented before experts and other key stakeholders. The winning proposal will be considered for adoption by the Delhi Chief Minister for possible implementation at scale. The winner will also receive a cash prize of Rs 50 lakh.Citizens can participate by submitting their ideas through the campaign website, www.indiatoday.in/pollution-ka-solution.The initiative is intended to bring public participation, expert assessment and practical experimentation together in the fight against air pollution. As the campaign progresses, submissions will be evaluated and promising ideas identified for further scrutiny and testing. The organisers hope the process will produce actionable solutions that can move Delhi’s air-pollution debate beyond awareness and towards measurable, on-ground change.- EndsPublished On: Aug 22, 2026 22:10 IST
